I thought this book was okay. The premise was certainly interesting enough, but Neil Gaiman never quite managed to fully pull me into his fictional world. I didn't lose myself, which I think is the best part about reading a well written book. Oh, not to say this book wasn't well written. It certainly was :). There were quite a few words I wasn't familiar with, so I learned a ton. I know Gaiman's intention was to make Richard into an Everyman hero, but I think that exact approach made me not very fond of him. I thought he was weak. Overall, I'm glad I read this book, but I also feel as though I never quite managed to fully connect with the characters.
