I've always enjoyed Garwood's writing. Her heroines are so sweet and strong, I can't help but admire them. I haven't been able to read many of her contemporary romances, but I was ecstatic when I found out she had written another historical. I felt this one took a little too long to pick up the pace. It was an enjoyable read, don't get me wrong, but I felt it doesn't quite measure up to some of her previous historical romances. Overall, I give this book a 3.8 (specific, eh? ;p). I don't see myself reading it again, but the time spent reading wasn't wasted either.
